International Post Covid Tech Forum took place in 22 March 2021, organized by Business and Technology University, Georgia. The discussions were mainly focussed on the role of digitalization  and different ICTs in the Post Covid 19 Pandemic Era from different points of view of economic sectors and education.

Institute for Sustainable Development, Environment and Tourism in Albania was involved in a wide network of research institutions to discuss in relation to the post Covid 19 Pandemic  revitalization of economies in a sustainable way. The activity aimed at gathering insights of many higher education actors on sustainable and innovative models in education, small business, environment and energy sectors.

COVID 19 pandemic, present in our societies from 2020 and still having some impacts on health and our societies has changed everything. At the very beginning we dealt with health emergency impacting all our lives, economies and societies. 

Recently, we are living in a different world because of COVID 19 pandemic. Economies and especially sectors such as Tourism suffered from lower revenues, lower growth, challenge of jobs and raise of unemployment. As a result, tourism industry changed and adopted through new and innovative models, methods, tools and processes, even including more digitalization, while expecting better times to come.

Digitalization in the economy has helped in many ways in this difficult situation to support many activities, to support communication and information and businesses in general  as well as tourism businesses that have been agile and flexible to react.  

The discussion from InSET was: “Towards a close approach post covid within tourism and digitalization in Higher Education”. The discussion impacted the participants perception on the way digitalization is related not only to sustainable tourism in general, but especially in raising the quality of tourism education, for further resiliance in the near and next future.
